Family using playground equipment.Sometimes it is the simplest moments that remind us why our mission here at Hospital Hospitality House is so important: a moment of respite (and joy!) like the one captured in this photo when a family—with five small children—traveled over 1800 miles to be with a loved one in critical care in Kalamazoo.

A homelike, comforting place to stay for patients and their families as they endure the significant stress and uncertainty of medical situations…that’s what we have been for over 36,000 guests in the last 34 years—1,285 in 2018 alone! And it is thanks to you, along with other generous supporters, that we have been able to be here.

As you know, in February we celebrated the opening of our second new facility on Burdick Street just steps from Bronson Methodist Hospital. Along with our Henson Avenue House adjacent to Ascension Borgess, we have expanded our capacity to serve. In just the last year, in fact, we were able to serve 48% more guests than the previous year, and our numbers of guests and nights of service have continued to increase in 2019. We know we are needed in the community, and so we also know we need the ongoing support of wonderful donors like you to make our work—our mission—possible.

We hope you will consider a gift to our summer appeal today to help us continue to serve patients and their families when they need us most. It is easy to make a gift online by clicking the button below or mailing a gift to our office at 828 S. Burdick St., Kalamazoo, MI 49001.
